ChildHelp USA-Speak up to stop child abuse!

This is a organization that does wonderful work to help abused children. I worked for them for quite a while. They are nationwide, and if you suspect or know of a child in danger, please call they number listed at the bottom. They will do whatever they can to help a child in danger or suspected danger. Speak up! I can vouch for this organization. "It should not hurt to be a child". Blessings, LL


Today eons is bringing awareness to child abuse and I hope all post a way to help stop abuse, or report it, or give this number to someone who is struggling to help them help themselves and not hurt their children. Child abuse is a issue for all of us and up to all of us to do what we can so it does not hurt to be a child. Thanks for reading and supporting today. LL

The picture to me dipicts child abuse. The fear somebody will find out what is happening to you. The shame and degredation you endure in silence.
How to break the silence about this is a step that is very hard to do. Scary even.
I would want to tell that special child just that...they are special, it is NOT their fault, and they are loved, wanted and needed by others that DO care about them. "It should not hurt to be a child" is a wonderful slogan. Children should hurt from a skinned knee, not a battered spirit and broken heart.

I share your passion for protecting vulnerable groups of people...all people for that matter. But our children and our elders deserve special attention because they are so often unable to speak for themselves or to do anything to protect themselves. Bless you for your efforts! Cheers~ Sharon

I can't tell you how important it is to support organizations such as this one. My daughter was abused by my ex husband when she was an infant - from the age of 3 to 8. She recalled the memories about 5 years ago. It caused the onset of severe mental illness. PTSD and Dissociative Disorder. She's been hospitalized 3 times in the last couple of years. She's living with me now. I'm her caretaker. Child abuse has life long detrimental effects. Most people who have been abused repress the memories of it and don't recall it till they are in their 30's, 40's and even 50's.

I feel this organization is a very important cause. There are children out there who need our help in each and every way. I myself was a victim of abuse and it's so important to get the word out in helping those who can't help themselves. I believe their should be stricter laws for the perpetrators and education for families. No innocent child should ever have to suffer and I pray and believe that there has to be a guardian angel there with them so they don't feel the pain inflicted upon them.

Whether the abuse is physical or mental it will hurt the child forever. Sometimes the true damage does not show until many years later but the damage is there and must be dealt with to ease the damage.

I work as a volunteer for Guardian as lidum which is an agency that visits with children who have been placed in the court system due to abuse or neglect. Often that are in foster homes because the parents are on drugs or alachol. This organizationis all over the country & always looking for volunteers.

I wrote a blog about a month ago about the month of April and what my group is doing to try to get more people aware. There are many more organizations now then there were a few years ago. This sounds like a good thing, but it is so sad that we need them at all. Child abuse is not like a disease that a person can not necessarily prevent. People must learn to control their actions, and if they are not able they should then seek help. If someone you know, even if in your family, is neglecting/or abusing his or her child(ren) speak up and report them, if necessary. These little victims can not protect themselves; they need all of us.
