You may have noticed my blogs have no central theme. It's true!
But that's OK. I began this as an exercise in writing my thoughts about different subjects. Much like a journal, only one to be shared, and the computer is so much easier to use than paper and pencil. Besides it's no fun to write if there is no audience. As a frustrated actress (community theater level only) I have a great appreciation of audience.
With so much in the world to be interested in it is good to let the mind wander over a variety of topics. Sometimes it is things that are close and personal, other times just random musings. But the exercise is good. It stimulates the memory (see A cup of tea). It makes us aware of our blessings.(see how I got my name)[I actually wrote that one as a gift for my Father) It gives us a place to share our hobbies and interests. It improves out writing skills, editing skills, grammar and spelling.
All of these reasons for writing make us feel good. We are interacting on a personal level. We are sharing information and we never know who it might touch. We are keeping our brains clear and our wit sharp. We are reaching beyond ourselves, beyond our own life to be a part of a larger community. I would never have thought about doing this before I joined EONS. Now I am learning a new art. I do enjoy the EONS Brain Games but writing may be an even better way to stay young and active, at least mentally.
