Vacation 2007

I was thinking about anticipation this morning.How enriching to enjoy not only the moment but to anticipate a future event. I have heard it said that using wood for heat warms you twice; Once when you cut it, once when you burn it.
Planning an event is the same, times four. You enjoy the planning, the anticipation, the event, and the memories. My life is richer for the entire process. So often we get so evolved in "getting it done" that we forget to enjoy it.
I have begun planning my 2008 Vacation. Yes I know it's only March and I don't plan to go until August, but I enjoy thinking about where we will go and what we will do. This year My Father(89), my Cousin Pam, and I will vacation in Yellowstone. Dad and I will drive. well ok, I will drive and he will ride, from Florida to KC MO where we will pick up Pam; from there across Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming. So far I have included in this years plans a day tour on the Yellow Bus in Yellowstone, a float trip on the Snake river, a Rodeo in Jackson Hole, and a covered wagon ride to a chuckwagon dinner. No telling what else I will think up between now and then.
And I'm still savoring the memories from last years trip to Durango Colorado, Mesa Verde, 4 points, a train ride, a mellerdrama, AND the best French Pastry I have ever eaten from Jean Pierre's bakery.
Thank God for wonderful memories and the anticipation of making more.
