Don't Miss The Boat
Don't miss the boat while waiting for your 'Ship' to come in !
Have you ever heard the expression "when my ship comes in"?
This reminds me of the story about the man about to drown in a flood.Barely holding on,he prays "Lord save me".Someone hanging on to something came floating by said "grab hold and we'll be safe til someone saves us". The man says "no,I prayed and I know the Lord will save me".A while later,a boat comes by,a man says "jump in and you will be safe". The man says "no,I know the Lord will save me".Then a helicopter comes over and sends down a lifeline.Someone yells,"grab the line and we'll save you".The man says,"no,I'm waiting for the Lord to save me".the man waited too long and he drowned. When he got to heaven he asked the Lord,"why didn't you save me?"The Lord said,"I tried to save you three times but you turned me down each time".
Another example,My son has been praying for a job for awhile. One day he came by and told me he got two job offers the same day.One he could start right away, the other in about a week.He thought the second offer was best since it paid a little more,so he turned down the first offer and decided to wait for the other job.Well, the next week,he called to check on that job and they told him the person that had that job decided not to leave and the job was no longer available. So there he was,he missed the boat waiting for the ship to come in.Sometimes we fail to recognize God's blessings. When we pray for a need,we should be ready to accept whatever God sends our way.It may not be what we expected, but it's God's answer. If you are praying for something,Don't miss the boat waiting for your ship,it may never come in.God answers in His way,not ours.GOD DOES ANSWER PRAYER !
