Crank it up with cRANKy!

As a web owner , the question arises, how do the cranky editors find these sites? If they piggyback offf the major search engines the formuals used to rank their site are skewed againt some very interesting community and grass roots level site becuase of the onerous and difficult taks of getting back links etc. I have a friend who is a keen birdwatcher and keeps a blog and a site that many of eon suscribers would be very interested in but is lost in the dross of marketing hyped sites. Does cranky accept submissions directly?

And yes, I also had to fake my age to register at Eon but I notice that the founder is also 45 and therefore ineligible to use his own site??

I am not a US resident so not familiar with US law but where I come from age discrimation is actually illegal.

Feedback to Eons

Read about Eons in Business Week. It may be a place for me to find someone who knows about legibility, and/or find others bothered by the same problem.

Am having trouble navigating to read the blogs. Got to Expert Blogs and was given three choices:
#1 Crank it up with cranky [get started here? read blogs?]
# 2 Write and post a blog [I did. That's what I came for.]]
# 3 Read more [about what?]

About #1. I hate cuteness, cleverness that says look how clever I am without really helping, e.g., making a waste basket look like something else, so that when you look for it you don't recognize it. That's what you have done here.

When I click on #1 I get a lot of boasting, telling me how wonderful you are. That is something that I will decide for myself

My suggested copy is just a patch until you fix the fundamental problem: your use of cranky instead of "Web Search Engine and Our Blogs" The structure is not clear.
All that cranking it up stuff is cuteness that doesn't help.

I am sorry if I have hurt you by criticising your baby, I can add a bit of sugar by saying that the concept is great. All am saying is that cuteness interferes with ease of understanding and use.

The first BIG LINK was the Crank it up.. which took me back, not forward

I clicked on View Full Blog (all topics and it took me right back to Robs Blob and Crank it up

Somethin is not working as was intended

Please fix it so a user can go straight to reading blogs.

The structure is not clear.

And why the "Expert"?

I don't want to know about the bloggere unless what they say deserves my interest.

Hmm I always thought Cranky was a bad tempered woman haha ex used to say hmm cranky today, haaha .

I'm just about to turn 70 and the last thing I want when I do a search is someone's idea of what people of my age want to see. I surf the web constantly and am interested in what's new and developing. Most of that is oriented toward the young, but that's also where I find interesting ideas and concepts, keep track of cultural trends, etc. An age-oriented search engine is like living in a retirement community. It's fine for people who are afraid to venture out into the bigger world, but I see it as a cage.

I am fairly new to Eons and wonder why you permit people to start certain groups that contribute NOTHING to humanity except animosity in the group. I will not mention any particular group, but I have found certain groups to be very irritating. Some of the members have gone beyond the word RUDE!

This engine is the type search engine optimization services use for their queries. It's really easy to use, fast and useful. I had no idea that eons members ranked the sites. I had a feeling it was all done automatically. I guess I was wrong. Good job then!

I'm not familiar with using this search engine, but I will definitely check it out because I haven't ever heard of it.
