Those of us who are African Americans must seize the accumulative knowledge of the past and intertwine it into a beautiful tapestry of the future. We can no longer use as a justification the constraints our ancestral fathers endured. As the mythological Phoenix ascends from the ashes to become a new creation, so must we!
