Hi there..Just want to see if anyone else was stationed near Paris in the late 50's.
My husband and I were stationed at Hdqs.EUCOM near Paris in 1956.He was in the navy.He had been in for 4 years when we married.My first military station was there.I was a very young bride from Kentucky.
What a crazy life,culture shock and frightening time too as Algeria was trying to gain independence.
The Algerians didn't like us,the Commmunists didn't like us and the French didn't like anyone! I was yelled at,spit at and had rocks thrown at me!
I was respectful to the French though. I was a nice American and I held my head high.
