So much has happened these past two weeks; I got very very sick, Eons changed its policies and it seems the grief hasn't quit but it's calming down. Still, all of the online activity kept me occupied while I was ill so at least I didn't lose my mind looking at these walls.
As I sit here I can hear the ocean a block away. The waves are very strong tonight. It is so nice to be close to the ocean again, but I haven't had the opportunity to enjoy the beach again yet due to this illness.
I have a new friend who also lives here in Mexico. She is an artist and a great lady. It is so wonderful to meet new people that take advantage of Eons and are willing to reach out to form a friendship. In spite of its mismanagement, Eons has done a tremendous amount for me. We are all real people (well, most of us), and some of us have formed strong bonds that seem to be able to withstand almost anything.
Here are some photos of my new "community."
This is my street

Neighbor Nancy's Trailer House

Creative Trailer Living

This is a funky, kind of 60's place. It is a gated community but that does not mean rich people live here. Quite the opposite. I am surrounded by many Americans that seem to have come here to rot. Some are very nice, none all that bright or ambitious...it's as if they have reached the end of the line. Many of them just drink themselves silly. But nobody here is dangerous. It is very different than living amongst the Mexicans. I love to go into town and away from here to be in my familiar surroundings (with Mexicans, that is).
How can people live here for 25 years or more and not speak Spanish??? That absolutely galls me. But that's me, they are who they are. I can't fault them, really. We all do what we can.
Still, I do kind of avoid the Americans here. The Mexicans in the camp are very nice, smiles all around. Even if they speak English I speak Spanish to them out of respect. It is lovely that they speak English in their own country, but since this country is my adopted country, I speak its language as much as possible.
Soon I will have the energy and strength to go back out again but I'm not pushing it. I was really, really sick and I don't want a repeat performance!
It is so good to have the space of a house, to have a real kitchen again. I am cooking again!
Just insomniatic ramblings, but now I believe I can go to sleep. It has been a very tumultuous two weeks in many ways!
