Hi All, 3/6/07
I thought I’d try a blog. It’s about the frozen water pipes at my camp on Cayuga Lake. It’s really a normal house I just call it a camp to make it easy. Well yesterday I was able to make it there. I had been trying for 3 days to get down there to visit family and friends. But the weather or the roads were just too bad. The furnace had stopped working about 2 days before by my best guess. The thermal switch for the pilot light broke. It’s only a $7.00 item, but it’s going to cost a lot more to fix every thing. My friends and I will do the work to keep costs down. I hope to make it to the camp on Monday, we’ll see what happins. If I remember I'll take pictures as I go along

Well my brother checked the furace today and it stopped working again. I guess I amy have to call a professional to get it working right. But the good news is the damage is already done and it's suppose to warm up the next few days. He did start the wood stove and my other brother is going to keep it going.

I’m a little sore this morning. I went to the camp, yesterday and started to work on the pluming. It’s not as bad as I had thought. I only had to rip out a few pieces of sheet rock. The leaks for the most part are due to fitting coming apart, not the pipes bursting. I’m sore because I was under the kitchen sink trying to solder some fittings. I still have a few fittings to fix.
The furnace is fixed again. I found the under lying problem. It was due to the orifice on the pilot light being covered with a white powder, causing the pilot light to be small. When the furnace would start it was blowing out the pilot light out.

I made it back from the camp and got the pipes under the knitchen sink fixed. I think, I ahve t owait a few more weeks before I turn on the water. There is still a leak in the wall by the bathroom vanity. My brother Dan put the vanity in so, I'm waiting for him to return from his curise. So he can take it out. Then I'll cut into the wall and fix what Ihope is the last leak.

Just when I thought I could start sheetrocking I found 2 more leaks!! they seam to just keep popping up. But I think I got them all now. I left the water on just to see if any more things start leaking. I hope to start sheetrocking next Monday.

Just when I thought things were getting better I find out that I have to replace the kitchen Faucet. But this is the last thing that needs replacing. My brother Dan started to sheetrock last week-end, so the end is near for this blog.

This blog has died. My brother Dan is putting the finishing touches on the sheetrock even as I write this finial tale. Everything will be back to normal next time I go to the camp. I started bringing home some of my tools. Just so there woun't be a lot that I have to get all at once. I hope you ahve enjoyed reading about my frozen pipes.
THE END
