Once you read this you will be wondering why in the world I moved here in the first place but sometimes there are things you just can't know until after you are living there and now I must wait for my lease to expire before I can move.

My upstairs neighbors are are known drug addicts with criminal records who have made it their personal mission to attempt to control and make unpleasant the lives of everyone living in this building. They fight each other regularly and threaten anyone who says anything to them about that or anything else they wish not to hear about. They pound on the of the building disturbing the peace regularly and at all hours, without regard to courtesy or propriety of any kind and what’s more… they have been living here without ANY electricity whatsoever for close to a year (THESE ARE ALL-ELECTRIC KITCHEN UNITS) and the landlord is fully aware of all of this. They generate light and cook using candles and have boasted of paying no rent for nearly a year. The landlord chooses to allow them to live here rent free-- surely her prerogative; however, she is allowing this to impinge on the safety and quality of existence of others. I have been in communication with the Police Department’s, Beat Supervisor who is willing to do what he can. Unfortunately, his hands are tied by the complacency of an unresponsive property owner. Anybody out there got any suggestions?
