Chicken soup and hot tea. Is there anything more comforting than home made chicken soup when your not feeling well. I've never been sure if it is the ingredients or the memories that make you feel better. I know the pepper helps the sinuses and the warmth heats the whole body; but that is only physical. Remembering Mama bringing a bowl of soup and crackers to your bed and sitting with you to be sure you ate it all wraps your heart in a warm blanket of love.
I'm home sick today and having a bowl of turkey soup (close enough to chicken to count) I made from thanksgiving leftovers and froze. And a cup of Earl Grey tea. The warmth is good and I'm feeling better already. The memories of my Mama are warmer than the soup and I know she is with me today. I love you Mama!
