Kucinich to Introduce Impeachment of Bush Before State of the Union January 28
In a brazen show of courage, Congressman Kucinich took to the House Floor yesterday and called Bush and Cheney the liars that they are.
"The President and Vice President lied and 4,000 of our soldiers died. The President and Vice President lied and a million innocent Iraqis died in a war that'll cost us two trillion dollars while people here in the states are losing their jobs, their health care, their homes, their dignity. Lies are weapons of mass destruction. Lies are also an impeachable offence. Monday, January 28th is the State of the Union. We already know the State of the Union, it's a lie."
Dennis said his piece, then had to retract it.
Because of the rules of the House, Dennis had to retract his statement. However, as a C-SPAN watcher since the first day of it's coverage of Congress, one of my frustrations has been how few times a liar is called a liar. Euphemisms just do not do justice. A lie is a lie is a lie. Unfortunately, just as America is reluctant to look honestly at its past, it is equally hesitant to face its present reality.

I hope that Congressman Kucinich is aware that there are many others that support his position. As you have said, a lie is a lie is a lie. The refusal to have the administration even begin to acknowledge this is disheartening....Elizabeth/ii

and they ( the lies -and the people telling them ) just keep coming, with no visable end in sight. Yes - we all know there lies. Yes - we know that they know that it's all lies. The real question is.........when do we get off our duffs ( by voting in someone better) and change things?

What rules are those -- the ones that prohibit honesty in Congress?

Yet another show that accomplishes nothing. That is all the Democrats have done since they won control of Congress.

I see the mutual admiration society is in session again. A lie requires intent. He went with available intelligence. Everyone believed it, including all the Democrats in Congress who read the same report. If he lied, they did too, all are guilty and should be thrown out, as he could do nothing without them. Besides, there were numerous other reasons for the invasion. You or anyone else cannot prove any of it are lies, only speculation, and so far no laws have been broken. Your hatred is unbecoming.

I agree with "foneman" and I would like to add this. In the last election the American voters heard all the rhetoric about the economy and the war in Iraq and they voted on moral issues. They didn't want what the liberals want, Abortion, Gay marriage etc.. Remember the last Dem. president we had was IMPEACHED, and it was for the lies he told to a U.S. Court. He was convicted on facts, not speculation.

Foneman, I know what hatred is and I don't hate Bush. I think he's a pitiful excuse for a president. You mistake an assessment of integrity and intelligence with other motivations. It's your prerogative to make that mistake but that doesn't make it accurate.
