What happened between then and now?

I think it's all in the hair, or lack thereof (and maybe a wrinkle or two).

It was the era of the crew cut or flattop, and I opted for the flattop, ala Bob Cummings haircut from the 50's.

A swipe with a damp cloth (my version of washing my hair), a little dab of 'Butch' and I was ready for anything.

Bill, my barber at the time, could cut my hair in less than seven minutes including rounding the sides.

Now I can count the number of hairs on one wrinkled, brown spotted hand; and that might be a generous number.

I can still wash my 'hair' with a swipe with a washcloth, and I could substitute the dab of 'Butch' with a dab of Johnson's paste Wax, but somehow it just ain't the same.
