I used to baby sit for my neighbor. One day her little girl came to my house. I had a new cat, so I told her, it's ok if you pet this kitty. She looked at me very suspiciously and asked me if this was a "scratch cat"?

She was so serious, and it was obvious, she'd had contact with a scratch cat. I really had to laugh and I've remembered her saying that all these years.
