I was told to write this blog and boom it for all to see ..I think this store Im writing about needs to be boycotted because of its horrible customer service and policies..
I had received some diamond earrings from my parents awhile back.. 1999 to be exact.. I never wore them that much because , well they were kinda small and me being a big gal ...anyway, my mom says to me.. you know those earrings I bought you why not take them back to Mervyns, you have that certificate that says at any time you can exchange them (as long as you buy up)
Ok so I think why not take them in now, hell they have this 60 -70% off sale going on... So I show the gal behind the counter the earrings and the certificate.. She tells me oh no you only have 90 days to return.. I said well this says AT ANY TIME blah blah blah... she says I have to get my manager... The manager comes and tells me Mervyns was bought out in 2001 and they dont honor those anymore ..now its only 90 days to return.. I said well that is pretty crappy.. I said geez here we thought we could return them as long as they are in good condition and buy something else as long as we paid more ... I said I sure as hell wont do business with a business that doesnt honor committments it made... then I left...
I decided to write Mervyns to let them know I think their business practices suck and that I will never step foot in their store ever again.. (Like they will give a crap) but I tell you that really pissed me off thinking that all this time I could trade up....
They would have made a profit on my trade up AND they would have made more profit reselling the diamond earrings I returned...
UPDATE: After I sent Mervyns my letter of disgust.. I received this today, 12-29 via email..
Dear Paddi, Thank you for contacting us. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We are very sorry that you were missed informed. We will gladly do a diamond trade up if your diamonds are in an excellent condition and you still have the diamond certificate. Please contact us with the name of the associate and the date that your trade up was denied so that we can provide additional training to that associate. Please return to your local store and ask for the department supervisor and they will gladly help you. If any further questions please visit us at Mervyns.com. Sincerely,Mervyn's Guest Services

There are a lot of stores that sell things they have no business selling, but they do because they make a bunch of money doing it and we get our shopping done so we can get out of the crowded stores quicker.
This year for Christmas I got my wife some lovely new clothes for Christmas. They were all the right size and color and they all matched the things my daughter got her, too. She just had to alert us as to who each package was from so we would know what we had gotten her.
