Hard to believe another month has come and gone and 2007 is almost over. I can remember when everyone was panicking about the year 2000. LOL Time just marches on.

My Dad is presently in the hospital with several problems, not the least of which is pneumonia. Of course, he has Alzheimer's but that was already known. What happened was he had E. Coli and apparently it settled in his lungs. I don't pretend to know what that means, but I do know they said he has pneumonia and he is being given antibiotics. He is doing better from that, but we suspect there is another problem as he is unable to communicate as he did before he became ill. Hopefully we'll get additional info later today.

My hubby is doing better. He has been having physical therapy twice a week for his herniated disc and is back at work part time.

I continue to crochet squares for the San Diego fire victims. There is a lady who has organized the effort and she has folks helping to put them together. Having done this for Katrina, I know this is a very huge undertaking. She admitted she was surprised at how the effort took off. It is easy to get overwhelmed if you don't get help. Hopefully, it will work out as she is in the affected area and has a lot of support. Collecting squares is easy. It is the joining and subsequent delivery that is time consuming.

If you are interested in helping, I'm sure there are possibilities for those who don't crochet as well. Yarn donations would be welcome - clean, usable yarn.

Dancing with the Stars is over for this season. Helio won. He deserved it. He is an excellent dancer who has come a long way from the beginning. He worked hard. He has a great personality, always smiling, very respectful and caring of the other contestants. At least that is how he seemed during the contest. I don't know him personally. Since Jane was no longer in, I had switched allegiance to Marie and she was in the final three. I did not expect her to win, but I'm pleased she was in there at the end. It sends a good message that no matter your age, you can still be an active participant in life.

I guess that is it for today.

Blessings,
Sandie
