I do most of my artwork on my PC these days. It all started with a gift of Adobe Photoshop and a Wacom drawling pad.
I had to learn everything about saving and sending files. After many, many, many, lost files, I finally started getting it. I soon started selling my work on t-shirts and gifts at CafePress.
This summer I joined another cool t-shirt site called Threadless. There you get to buy or vote and make comments on other artist designs. Better yet you get to summit artwork yourself.
They only accepted vector art, which I didn’t have the program for. After doing some research, (on the PC again) I put a program for vector art on my Christmas wish list.
Thank goodness I signed up for the Threadless newsletter. They have made some great changes. The best news is that you can now summit art work in PNG, JPEG, SWF or GIF. This opens opportunities for many more artists including me.
If your design is chosen, you will receive a cash prize and a gift certificate to purchase some of your shirts.
Hmmm... I wounder what I want for Christmas now? Lap-top?
UPDATE
Thanks for all the votes and spreading the word. 1,653 votes, not bad for my first try.
