Well, we made it through the California Fire. We had to evacuate on Monday morning. Sunday night was so scary. We were awake all night. The winds were stronger than I have ever seen them. Ash and debri flew everywhere. We waited until the sun came up to leave because it looked to dangerous to try and drive in the dark and smoke and wind. We drove up to Orange County with our dog, cat and bird and found a very nice hotel that took animals. So we stayed there for three nights watching the news. I called several neighbors to make sure they were all okay. People started going back to our neighborhood on Tuesday. The fire came within a few blocks of us, but the fire department kept flames away. We spent all day Thursday and Friday cleaning up our yard. It was full of tree branches. It still smells like smoke I guess that will take awhile to go away.

So glad that you and your family and pets are safe. We live in the desert, and when the winds shifted it brought the smoke into the valley. The smoke was heavy at times, our eyes were burning, and at times felt sick. cagirl
