A boy asked a girl if she would just take his hand
And take a walk in the moonlight, at the beach, in the sand
He had thought she was pretty
And he was ever so shy
Would the pretty girl
Walk with the regular guy

So, the pretty girl put on her prettiest dress
She thought maybe today that her answer was yes
To the shy little boy who watched from afar
Would she sit in the front seat for a drive in his car

And the girl's heart was beating so quickly to see
The boy coming right towards her oh so handsome was he
But she dare not let on what she hoped he would ask her
The pretty girl held on to her breath praying he wouldn't walk past her

So the shy little boy watched the pretty young girl
Knew that she was the one to bring into his world
So he held out his hand as he asked her to dance
Through the turns and the twirls they found their romance
And the pretty girl found the one love of her life
And they both knew that someday they'd be husband and wife
