GOD’S FORGIVENESS
By Kat

Every time I confess a sin to You,
When I’m feeling sorry for things that I do,
You take my sin and fling it afar,
Clearing my record of sins ugly mar.

Or You throw confessed sin in ocean’s deep,
Forgiving, forgetting my sin— which I keep.
When guilt drags me with it back to You,
I hear, “What are you confessing to?”

Guilt, wanting it’s way, is ready to shout,
When softly You ask, “What's this all about?”
Guilt tucks in its tail, it sulks away,
Knowing Your forgiveness is here to stay.

It’s one of Your greatest gifts to me,
Forgiveness You offer willingly.
Teach me forgiveness as You forgive,
Guide me in all Your ways, how I should live.
