I went back to my post about BSL Legislation and was glad to see this post got folks all fired up. That's why I posted it.
This is not fiction; this is happening now. I am attending my area community's hearings on dog bans as we speak. "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." Voltaire
The comments are all right on but for those who were surprised that "their" breed is on the list, I don't think they are really aware that pit bulls are only seen as vicious because we have been conditioned to think so by all the sensational media coverage and distorted reports. My grandson's nose was ripped open by a lab/dalmatian mix who had been our pet for several years. On the other hand, my sons' 'Staffy" and Amer. Pit Bull Terrier wouldn't hurt a fly.
I am scared that if we do not make a united stand and speak out forcefully against this unjust legislation, this will all come to fruition so fast that it won't be able to be stopped. It's like a freight train and mindless decision makers, afraid to go against the current trends, are barreling forward with all speed to enact new laws to make their communities 'safe'. What they don't realize is that laws will continue to be broken by those that are doing it now. The only ones who will follow these new laws are the ones who are already responsible pet owners . "The more laws and order are made prominent, The more thieves and robbers there will be."

A quotation I always have a hard time finding says it all.
“First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me."
by Rev. Martin Niemoller, 1945”
