Results day is tonight and I’m really excited. I’m hoping that I still get to dance, but what’s really important to me is I want to thank everybody who has been so supportive and everybody who has been voting because according to Yahoo I’ve got some phenomenal fan support and that just absolutely warms my heart.

I spoke to my mom this morning in the nursing home. My sister held the phone next to her ear and interpreted all her smiles, nods and the words she was trying to get out of her mouth. I told her that my son Johnny, her grandson, had said after my performance that he felt that angels were around me and that the angels just transported me around the dance floor. That was how I felt and I told my mom that she was my angel and was inside my heart when I was dancing. Apparently she smiled and nodded and she feels she was with me. This is just something special that happened this morning, something that’s really important to me.

I also had a very exciting call yesterday. Ben Stevenson who was a major leading dancer of the London Festival Ballet when I was a teenager and started doing choreography when I was still in school, was someone who I had worked with when I was sixteen. Probably the last ballet I ever did was something he choreographed, when he first started. He’s since then been the director of Houston Ballet for 25 years and now Ballet Texas. He’s always been my inspiration and a mentor. Anyway, yesterday morning he and the entire company of Ballet Texas called and screamed and cheered me on. It was just so exciting to feel the ballet world that I had known forty years ago remembered me and were inspired by what I was doing.

Anyway, the reason for this blog is just to thank everybody for all their support and anyone who voted and just to let you know that I am so excited and having the time of my life. Thanks.
