Results day is tonight and I’m really excited. I’m hoping that I still get to dance, but what’s really important to me is I want to thank everybody who has been so supportive and everybody who has been voting because according to Yahoo I’ve got some phenomenal fan support and that just absolutely warms my heart.
I spoke to my mom this morning in the nursing home. My sister held the phone next to her ear and interpreted all her smiles, nods and the words she was trying to get out of her mouth. I told her that my son Johnny, her grandson, had said after my performance that he felt that angels were around me and that the angels just transported me around the dance floor. That was how I felt and I told my mom that she was my angel and was inside my heart when I was dancing. Apparently she smiled and nodded and she feels she was with me. This is just something special that happened this morning, something that’s really important to me.
I also had a very exciting call yesterday. Ben Stevenson who was a major leading dancer of the London Festival Ballet when I was a teenager and started doing choreography when I was still in school, was someone who I had worked with when I was sixteen. Probably the last ballet I ever did was something he choreographed, when he first started. He’s since then been the director of Houston Ballet for 25 years and now Ballet Texas. He’s always been my inspiration and a mentor. Anyway, yesterday morning he and the entire company of Ballet Texas called and screamed and cheered me on. It was just so exciting to feel the ballet world that I had known forty years ago remembered me and were inspired by what I was doing.
Anyway, the reason for this blog is just to thank everybody for all their support and anyone who voted and just to let you know that I am so excited and having the time of my life. Thanks.

I thought you did a great job no matter what age you are. You seemed to float on the dance floor, so graceful. Yes, I do think the angels were out there with you. You looked lovely and very feminine. Your hard work paid off and your dreams do come true if you wish hard enough ;-) Christine

I've been watching this show since season 3 and have always voted online. There is something messed up and an error page comes up when I try to vote. Someone needs to tell them that, but there is no option to contact them about that. I thought your performance was wonderful! You were so graceful and beautiful. You seemed to be floating just above the ground! I'm sure you will be in this thing for a long time. It would be lovely if you were the first woman to win!

Elegant, truly elegant. No way you are going off the show anytime soon. I do hope you would mention to the producers that the way they have it set up voting wise is unfair. They have the ladies vote one night, the guys vote another. That means that a lady could lose, even though the guys really were pretty bad. Frankly, the only stand out there was Mark Cuban, he did so much better than I expected. He actually seemed to enjoy it. Considering the hip replacement and all, I find it amazing he's doing it at all.
Tell me, is it genetics or a wizard surgeon that keeps you looking so good. A little of both perhaps. Yeah, I wouldn't say either, but dang, you look as good or even better than you did years ago.

Well it was my first time watching this program with focused intent on a couple... you and your partner. Since I wasn't all that familiar with this program it was hard to keep track of all the couples in the competition. I got worried when each time 2 couples were "reprieved" that your name wasn't called. Then finally.... at the end... (I would have had a heart attack by then if it were me) -- you were SAVED! Collective Joy indeed!

Tony commented about you, "she pushes herself, I don't have to," and on the clips it shows you working so hard. It seems though, Jane, that you are a true artist. The hard work transforms into beauty and grace. We never see the "hard work" part, only the art in motion. Congratulations on your winning fox trot!

Jane, I don't have TV right now, but I have long been an admirer. I am 58 and I say kudos to you for going on and jumping in. Your beauty and grace are timeless and it isn't about makeup and clothes either. It is about taste, intelligence, self-respect, and grit and tenacity. It's about loving your mother and your kids and knowing what is real and right. That is what shows on your face. When you are ninety you will still be beautiful because some things don't change and as long as your values and your heart are in the right place it will show on your face.
I saw you in the video and to say that you were graceful is such an understatement. I will be on my honeymoon starting Saturday...I wish you success.
I cared for my mother for three years when she had cancer and my father for eight months as well. I promise you that she is your angel and she is dancing with you. My mom and dad are still with me and watch over me as I watched over them.

Jane - you were wonderful, and we were so happy to see you advance to the next round. We're really pulling for you , you're such a joy to watch, and so very graceful and elegant - so full of class, too. The mambo should really be fun for you.
BTW, I met you in Atlanta, saw your new home decor lines (fantastic!), and found your book to be inspirational. So many great ideas that anyone can implement - I've already done a couple of the tablescapes. You're a remarkable person, and an inspiration to us! We'll be watching next week! Continued success!! :>) Barbara

I am so happy that you and Tony (I love that man!) made it through the first hurdle. I used all 6 of my phone votes on the two of you. Jane, you are as lovely now as you were when you first came to our attention. You've always been a very inspiring woman and still are. Good luck on DWTS and I'll keep voting for you. Debbie

Wonderful foxtrot, half the time watching the show I question if anyone is actually doing the correct dance. Some foxtrots don't look like one to me yours was just perfect. I too am an ex pat. also ex dancer (was just to big for points) You are quite the inspiration, and am going to start drawing again. Thank you
