Spent the morning in the basement getting rid of things that should have been gone long age. Hard to believe that the nice young man that came to take the sofa also left with two recliners and two lamps.
With the space that was freed up, I was now able to start creating the office space that I've been dreaming of. Several hours later I needed a break.
Coffee...I could hear it calling my name.
The pot in the kitchen was empty and as I reached for the coffee canister I had a much, much better idea.
Took a quick shower, got dressed and grabbed my book and binder and headed to my all-time favorite treat. Starbucks! What I needed was some down time and more importantly a grande skim vanilla latte with whipped cream. I know what you're thinking! You think it's similar to the "I'll have two quarter pounders with cheese, a large fry and a diet coke".
It has to be skim because I detest the taste of whole milk. It has to have whipped cream because every now and then you just have to treat yourself and indulge.
I haven't been able to write much since the whole chemo thing. Inflicted with the worst case of writer's block, writing has become somewhat of a frustration to me. I decided to just write for ten minutes no matter how painful it was going to be. Ten minutes of just whatever popped into my mind.
Proud to say that the ten minutes turned into two hours and now I have plenty of great ideas to start a book that I'm happy to say was inspired by an email from a fellow Eons acquaintance. Thank you Atraveler! Looking forward to hopefully working on this together.
They say that Starbucks in a waste of money and the calorie content of their beverages can't be good for you. I say, for the $3.49 I spent and whatever the calories I indulged in...it was all worth it!
Two hours of peace, two hours of quality writing time, a ten minute conversation with someone I haven't seen in six months and the fabulous taste of that vanilla latte was more than worth it!
