Thanks for sharing. I used to work for Child Welfare for many years and my heart would break because I couldn't "fix" all the children I saw from abusive homes. I guess this was the most disturbing and heartbreaking job I have ever had in my working life. It seems (here in Oklahoma) that child abuse has soared as have the death of children from abusive family members. Seems as though every week a child has died or been severely injured from child abuse. I wish I knew an answer to prevent all the abuse of our children.......our state hasn't come up with an solution yet and nobody will ever be able to prevent abuse. I am going through a tough time right now too; it's not physical child abuse...it's psychological and mental abuse. My son divorced his wife three years ago and she got custody of the children. She continually makes promises to them that she never keeps. For instance, my granddaughters birthday was August 5th and her mother told her she, her mother and the rest of the family got her an I-Pod for her birthday, but here it is Sept. 9th and she hasn't seen it yet. My granddaughter has been asking for it and her mother told her not to ask about it anymore. Supposedly someone has it downloading songs onto it. That is just one example of the promises that is made to my granddaughter and grandson. I could go on and on; to me, that is child abuse!!! I wish there is something I could do, but my ex-daughter-in-law is such a good liar, everyone believes her and thinks she is so sweet!! Sorry for venting; have a good day!!!
