Life has got a lot better lately. I received a promotion at my crappy job, I had a great interview for a much better (okay, dream job) with a second interview set up for Monday!
Best of all, I broke my addiction to Microsoft products. I installed Ubuntu Linux on my desktop machine and proceeded to make my machine into an almost Mac. Total cost? Just the time it took to install and configure everything. The Ubuntu Linux is free and comes with all kinds of free applications like an full office suite (OpenOffice) that is fully Microsoft compatible. All of the widgets and icons and themes I experimented with were free as well. Friends, there is a thing out there on the internet called "Open-Source" software. Stop padding Bill Gate's retirement and join the ranks of those of us who refuse to pay our tithe to Microsoft.
Here's a picture of how my desktop looks:

Until then, I found it too geeky for general use. But now, even amateurs can get it running on their computers.
Nice thing is that it's very resistant to most computer viruses, because the viruses are designed to target Windows.
