So I went to work today on "LABOR DAY." What does Labor Day mean to me? It means it is suppose to be a day off for everyone. What happened to our society that we work every holiday except Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter. Wow three holidays. What happened to "Family values?" While I'm at it lets also bring up Sundays. Why do stores "have" to be opened? Sunday it is supposed to be the Sabbath, where families eat together go to church together relax and do nothing day. Do we live in such Country that we don't care about family values? Children are stressed because they have sports after school and then they get home at 5 or 6 eat dinner and then they need to do their homework. It is now what 9 or 10 and if the child is older they are up past midnight studying for a test and they are up at 5 or 6 and it's all over again. They live in box never going anywhere but home school school home...What is wrong with our lives that we can't have a meal with our family because the kids are out the door to play soccer, or football, or whatever. Our lives are stressed as when we started having homework and then in our adult live's. We don't know how to slow down. oh well i need to go to bed so i can get up at 4:30 to be at work at 6:00. I don't even have children. I don't know how parents do it and single ones at that. Lets see we need to take Suzie to high school then take Ben to Jr high. then take the twins to elementary school. Now at two we pick up the twins and take them swimming drop them off. Go pick up Ben at 2:30 from jr. high and take him to soccer practice across town. Then we need to pick up Suzie at high school at 3:15 take her to the go babysitting. Now we need to pick up the twins or is it Ben? Oh No how do people do it? They must have a big calendar to put everyones activities, times and schedules. Thank God it's only me and my husband...i guess I won't complain about working on Labor Day. God Bless all the Parents out there that make their children and the family their priority. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. I'm going to bed. Good night ;)
