Hello everyone!
Today I am proud to be a Minnesotan.
In the midst of chaos with our 35W bridge collapse, over and over again, volunteers and fellow Minnesotans proved that something we thought might be gone existed -- Being Minnesota Nice.
My daughter's friend stopped by her apartment, and had spent the last two hours helping out at the scene wherever he could. He was not involved, he just went to help. Those who could simply walked over to help.
I am proud of the people of didn't just save themselves, but looked around and did whatever they could for those around them. I am proud of the people who did nothing more than sit by someone waiting for attention by the paramedics. There were no fights, no looting, no arguments about who went first, people just did what they could to help everyone else.
In the tragedy that is still unfolding, Minnesotans stand together to pray that during the hour of need, a higher power stood with each person in each situation. Miracles of survival unfold, and I am sure that there are many more.
I am proud of those that helped, I am saddened for those who are lost, I am thankful for the medical, police, firefighter disaster teams that went to work iimmediately, saving many lives, and as I said at the beginning, I am proud to be a Minnesotan.
Please keep us all in your prayers.
