As I write this blog I can almost hear the stillness of the Fall sounds around me, Lawn Mowers in distance cutting up Leaves,Leaf Blowers doing their job getting the Leaves all piled up so they can be baged,burned.. or.. .maybe.. just left until Grandchildren can come Thanksgiving and take turns jumping in Leaves....that was a tradition at our house..",Pile the leaves up as high as they would go"..,but no burning or bagging until our Grandchildren got to play in them Thanksgiving day,... and before the day was over the adults as well as children would be out in that leaf pile,... Oh the fun we had,.. covering each one up in leaves, or seeing which one could jump the highest in the leaves.....making memories are wonderful,...my husband has long left this world,Three of my Grandchildren are adults now and live in Florida, my younger Grandson is thirteen now,and thinks he is to old to play in Leaves....but that doesn't stop the memories from flooding my mind when I hear the sound of my neighbor taking care of his leaves........and then I remember a saying that I have heard all my life.."God gives us memories,so that we can have Roses in December," how true, how true....Thank you God for memories.
Thankgiving is two weeks away...most of my family will be here, only one Grandchild...but no Leaves will be piled high in yard, the man came today and picked them all up with this big contraption that sucked them all up...left the yard as clean as pen....time has made a change in things...no one will notice but me...but I will think of Leaf Pile and remember !!!!
