Tail of the Dragon was a blast!!!
Did it twice...will have pics in about a week...ordered them from zeefoto.com...they snapped tons of pics of us and I ordered them on CD...We ended up doing 4000 miles in about 10 days...dumped the bike on a foggy mountain in Va. and had to get another side nirror for the BMWLT while we were on the road...whopping $500!
Went through pouring rain,high winds,freezing snow,sleet,dangerous fog,icy roads and SURVIVED!!!!
We still don't know how we did it.....went from Houston,to Birmingham,AL.,to Dawsonville,Ga.,to Chattanooga,Tn.,through the Smokey mountains,to Waynesville,N.C. (stayed at my dad's house in the mountains for three days) did the Tail of the Dragon...twice....,to Salem,Va.,to Fredricksburg,Va.,through Skyline Drive,to Virginia Beach....to Myrtle Beach...to Pennsecola,Fla.,to Savanna,Ga .....down through Gulf Shores,Ala...to Dolphin Island (had to hold the bike up on a ferry ride)...back to Beaumont,Texas...and got back to Houston dripping wet...pockets full of water...exhausted....but wasn't ready to get home yet!
We had an adventure no one would believe! Met all kinds of people...climbed mountains...walked under waterfalls...rode under waterfalls...ate all kinds of food..and fell in love with the road and each other over and over again!
My Harley Boots are no longer waterproof!
Oh yea' two baby black bears crossed in front of us while doing the last part of Skyline drive,Va....We got the Hell out of there knowing too well the mother was close behind!
