One of the local TV stations got my attention the other night. Yep, it's story close to this leadfoot's heart. "How To Avoid A Traffic Ticket"
Ask-A-Cop is an IPone app. The app was put together by some Oregon deputies, It tells you how to avoid a traffic ticket. And how fast you can go over a posted sped limit.
Have to admit I once told a cop- a county mountie- what a state trooper had told me. Anything 70 and under was ok in a 55 zone on the freeway. The county mountie didn't buy it. Neither did the judge although I did get a 50% refund on the fine. Wonder if I'll have better luck producing this app as an alibi.
I tell people some people win the lottery. I win traffic tickets.
Be careful out there folks. Here there will be an extra 20,000 cars on the road today. Yep- the Oregon-USC game is on this afternoon. I-5 is going to be thick with police. And the bushes along the freeway are still plenty thick with leaves to offer cover for a hiding officer with a radar gum.

Upshot- I hadn't broken a law- he just liked to toy with cars with California plates. Ah.
Every so often here, the county mounties and the Chippies gather up a lot of folks speeding in the canyon, and you can almost hear the yowling when that happens.
Folk wouldn't bother me so much if they went a few miles over the speed limit. What bothers me is that they do it whilst on their cells, eating something and looking back to talk to passengers. That torks me. Getting old I guess.
