As much as I loathe the attacks on personal liberties, the mis-information and lies coming from the White House, the flagrant refusal to listen to the people shown daily by this Democratic Congress, the deepening economic abyss, the widening disrespect for the Constitution, the radical contempt for the average American and anything American, the constant crying about the condition of the country this administration inherited almost a year ago, and the elitism that is splitting this nation apart, there is one positive side to the Obama presidency.

The positive: It is another chance for America to wake up to the fact that such misuse of power and ignorance when it comes to ruling this nation is not acceptable and will not work. As it was in Jimmy Carter’s mistaken era, Obama is driving America into the ground, lessening its power, sovereignty, prestige and effectiveness as a country with much to offer the world. He is driving a runaway train headed toward economic collapse as an arrogant conductor pressing the throttle forward without an consideration to what lies ahead giving notice only of his corrupt and misguided agenda and the speed he can generate.

America will bounce back as it did after Carter. The tragedy lies in the depth of the hole we will have to dig ourselves out of when we finally rid ourselves of the politician figures that dug it in the first place. They complain that Bush took a Clinton surplus and created a debt but refuse to even acknowledge that in less that a year Obama has taken that debt to a level four times of that Bush created, and he had a war to pay for. Trillions of dollars is now the norm. Obama has created a debt greater to the debt of all preceding presidents combined! Quite an accomplishment for one president, but then again he did offer something different didn’t he?

It is Obama’s policies that are driving this debt skyward not the two wars we find ourselves in, as he is shying away from even funding them properly. Democrats don’t know how to fight wars. They never have. The idea of winning to them makes us look superior to others, especially the losers, and they can't stomach America being seen in a good light. They would rather apologize for our goodness and contribution to the world than promote it.

The “War on Terror” was officially renamed as the “Overseas Contingency”, a way to sugar-coat the reality of what it is to have an enemy that wants us dead. Having a president that wants peace is one thing. Having a president that refuse to see the dangers that threaten our very existence is quite another.

Praising Muslim contribution in this country on a day when we should have been remembering the role Muslim extremists played in murdering almost 3,000 innocent Americans, is unconscionable. But our president in seeking to appease hatred for America and what it stands for, did just that.

Bush is still criticized for “rushing into war” in Iraq when it took him a year after the attacks of 9/11 to do so, and that argument is wearing thin. Especially as this Commander-in-Chief can’t use information supplied him from his own hand-picked general to decide how and when to act against our known enemy.

If we are under-staffed in Afghanistan then every day we do not re-enforce those troops on the ground they are at greater risk, something that a man who never served and who detests conflict, except against people who oppose his policies, cannot understand. He is quicker to attack those who dare question him than he is to attack those who try and kill Americans and it is shameful at best, criminal at worst.

America is set to experience many a troubling day ahead, especially if the Obama presidency runs the course of 4 full years. But every day we see more and more people waking up to the realization that this is not the “change” they voted for and that destruction of our nation’s values, principles, Constitution and very existence, is far from what they imagined when they were hypnotized by flowery words and empty rhetoric. It sounded good to itching ears but lacked in substance or common sense.

With some difficulty no doubt, America will pull itself from the hole Obama, Reid, Polosi, Dodd, Graysen, Franks and the others on the hill, who just don’t get it, when it comes to who we are as a nation.

But we always follow mis-guided administrations with common sense presidents and regain our ability to stand tall. Somehow we find our roots of morality, common sense, strength and goodness and make a come-back.

It will happen again, unless all of Obama’s goals are realized and America becomes another third-world nation, no better or no worse than the worse of them so we won’t have to apologize to the rest of the world about being more productive or feel guilty because we have been more blessed than they. We will share the legacy of a president that brought America down never to recover. There is a point from which we may not be able to come back from. Hopefully we will not stand idly by until we reach it.

I have to hold out for “hope” for America. Not the phony Obama kind of hope, but the genuine American kind that has seen us through many tough and dangerous times. All it takes is a president with a will to understand the richness of what America stands for and refuses to apologize for it.

All it takes is a president who finds wisdom in his portfolio and uses it instead of stubborn arrogance to rule by. And all it takes is a people discerning enough to separate the truth from the fiction and common sense from BS. And all it takes is for them to have a love of their country deep enough within them to get them off the couch and vote for those who stand for America instead of those who stand in her way.

Carter tried but he could not destroy America. Obama is trying to “fundamentally transform the United States of America” as he put it, but he will fail too. America is bigger than one man. It is bigger than a group of morally corrupt socialists that use their power to create heavy-handed laws designed to beat down liberty, freedom and love of country. America is not them and they are not America.

We need to either put a ring in the nose of wayward politicians and turn them back to the path they should be walking for the sake of America, or we rid ourselves of their corruptness once and for all. A vote can be a powerful things, as can dissent, but only if it is put to good use.

WE are America and we will turn her head and lead her back to a time of common sense, morality, sovereignty, prosperity and greatness. Back to a time when change for the sake of change is a recognized danger. Back to a time when pride in who we are is not seen as evil. Back to a time when no apologizes are necessary for what we have.

The question then is, “Do you want your America back and if so, when?”
