I think it was Fox News that broke the story about Eric Williamson. A man who was arrested for being nude inside his own house.

While there are things he might could of done to make the situation more private, The Fairfax County, Virginia police seem to be railroading this guy.

A reporter in speaking with his roommates, said they (the roommates) thought Eric was drunk when they left for work at about 5:30 am. Eric says he was drinking the night before, but was not drunk the following morning.

While, I personally think drinking (of alcohol) is bad for all people, I think in this case it strengthens Eric's case. Because people do things they would not ordinarily do when they are drunk. It lets them know he did not know what he was doing, and therefore could not have had intent to anything on purpose.

The police story of the situation is constantly changing, first it was 5:30 am, but when people started asking questions about that, then they changed it to 7:30 and later 8:30. Police refuse to release a copy of the incident report or the name of the woman who filed the complaint.

However, a reporter, learned that the woman who filed the complaint is a respected member of the community and the wife of a police officer.

Original reports had the woman seeing from a trail (path) near his house, but a visual look at the house from the path makes it questionable that she could have seen anything from there, then Eric and the police said she was cutting through his yard, now police are saying she was on a sidewalk out front.

After the arrest, and after the story made national news, police canvased the area with fliers looking for more evidence, in other words, they are trying to trump up evidence to get their way.

I contacted Virginia Attorney General Bill Mims twice by phone and twice by email regarding this situation, and frankly he said he would not investigate, because the local police are not under supervision by his office. He referred me back to the local police. As though they are going to investigate themselves.

Fairfax County police would do well to remember Micheal Nifong, the prosecutor who prosecuted the Duke University Lacrosse team with very flimsy evidence and in spite of mounting evidence of innocence. They are bound and determined to get a conviction in this case, regardless of the truth.

The way I see it is that Attorney General Bill Mims or William P. Mims (as the voice mail said), by the way if call during regular business hours you are likely to get a real person to answer the phone (I did), does not care that local police will railroad innocent Virginian Citizens in order to get a conviction. Who knows, maybe he is in on it.

If this were a cigarette company based in a different state he would probably join a lawsuit. If it were an ordinary businessman someone was dissatisfied with, he would probably do something, unless it was one of his friends.

Basically, what Attorney General Bill Mims is doing is similar to ask Micheal Nifong to investigate Micheal Nifong. Won't do much good.

Apparently the Good Old Boy Network in Virginia reaches up to the Attorney General's office.

In comments on stories in places like myfoxdc.com and the washington post, and other online sources of this story I had been posting contact information to the Virginia Attorney General's Office until he emailed me back. His email really did say, in my opinion, that I should go to the criminals (Fairfax County, VA police and their commonwealth attorney) to have them investigate themselves.

So, now in my twitter, myspace, eons, facebook and other posts I will simply say that Attorney General Bill Mims does not have the integrity or the backbone to investigate the Fairfax County police.
