Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank you for your outpouring of love, prayers and support around the world. We appreciate your words of encouragement and comments on the Official James C. Birdsong Jr. Facebook Page. I give God all of the honor, glory and praise for everything He has done. I wanted to take this opportunity to issue another of my official statements. Since my recent official statement on the life and death of the King of Pop, the late Michael Jackson, we have recieve your responses. I wanted to do a tribute to both Michael Jackson and another legend who is no longer with us, the Godfather of Soul James Brown. Just as Michael Jackson influenced the younger artists such as Usher and Justin Timberlake, Michael's mentor and influence was James Brown. These men were indeed legends, icons and trailbazers in music and made their impact in history. On December 25, 2006, James Brown died a the age of 73-years-old here in Atlanta, Georgia at Emory University Hospital Midtown (formerly Emory Crawford Long Hospital) on Christmas Day. Just as I grew up on Michael Jackson, our parents grew up on James Brown during the 1960s. What I admired about Michael Jackson and James Brown is they were both gifted and talented singers. These men knew how to perform dance moves on stage that were sold out shows around the world. There will never be another replacement of Michael Jackson and James Brown. When James Brown made his transition, it was a sad day for the millions of fans around the world and now with the sudden death of Michael Jackson on June 25, 2009, it is also a day of mourning. These great men will always have a special place in our hearts. Both Michael Jackson and James Brown had a compassion for today's youth by inspiring them to become productive successful men and women. Their music and legacy will continue to live on in our lives and a great influence on the artists of today. As we take this time to remember the life, music and legacy of these great men let us remain focus on the Will and Purpose of God in our lives. Thank you for your support and may the Lord continue to bless you.
