After living in Uganda in sometimes primitive conditions for 2 long years, we are back home in Scotland.

I love the stunning scenery, the good roads, the stone homes and other types of interesting architecture full of character, the general charm, evidence of history, the food, the shops filled with so many choices (and money back guarantees), etc etc.

I've been consuming large fattening, high calorie food and drink and that will have to stop when we leave stepd and hub's house and go home tomorrow. I've had fish and chips, various beers, a couple of drams of whisky, Indian food, Thai food, bangers and mash (sausages and mashed tatties), several full Scottish breakfasts, my favourite biscuits - chocolate Hob Nobs, Walkers Crisps, cappacino's, cakes....oink oink!

Hub is enjoying being 60 as he got a senior train card which gives hiim a 30% discount, he's eligible for a free bus pass (he claims he'll start taking the bus now....yea right), and when we went to Culloden we discovered that since one of us is 60 that we are eligible for the senior discount for all Historic Scotland properties for an annual fee of 39 pounds per couple. Cool!
