College football has started and I am trying to watch more games this year. I have a favorite team and last year I only saw one game all season. So far I have watched 2 out of 3 so my average has shot up.

I was watching with interest the coach on the sideline motion one of his players off the field. A mistake had been made by the player and the coach didn’t waste any time throwing a fit as some coaches do but instead he put his arm around the shoulder of the player and started having a conversation with him.

It struck me that we can waste a lot of time while we are getting rid of clutter “throwing fits” and berating ourselves for holding on to something or asking why on earth did we ever buy what we are then getting rid of.

Getting rid of clutter in our homes and lives free us up in the way we feel, the way we treat others and the way we live. To quote a friend “it isn’t brain surgery”, let’s learn from our mistakes and get on with life. Like the football coach we can chose to “get on with the game” and get rid of clutter and move on with our life.

What do you think? Does it help when you get mad at yourself for creating clutter?
