This week Patrick Swayze passed away I know he was a big movie star but I always found he seemed to be a very approachable guy who had a good sense of himself and something about the way he loved his wife just touched me deeply.

I have many memories of watching Dirty Dancing with my daughters like a gizzilion times, and taking up pottery when I first saw the movie Ghost..but my favorite memory of him was the SNL skit when he danced with Chris Farley as a Chippendale now that was funny!

It seems the people that were such a big part of our life are slowly dying off and the young replacements don't seem to make me laugh as hard or cry as hard as our oldies but goodies did.

The passing of these people who make up so many of my memories make me want to hold on tighter to what we had, makes me want to tell my kids more stories about how cool it was to grow up in a time where anything seemed to be possible, makes me want to cherish the people who are still walking the path alongside me and thank them for keeping me company on this journey.
