I hope you had a great Saturday no matter what you did. I had a fun day. I went to an all day hook-in with about 45 other rug hookers. There were large round tables set up in the Rio Grand train depot that is now used as a museum. We had two classes on rug hooking and we all displayed a rug we had hooked this past year. Except for me—
I wrote a book this past year so I didn’t have a rug to show but I did have these beautiful flowers I hooked last month. You probably know my book is on organizing (no surprise there). The publisher gave it the name of Go Organize! It will be in major bookstores and other places in December of this year.
Back to rug hooking. Because people know I am a professional organizer as we talked and hooked our rugs they asked me questions on how to clear clutter. One friend pulled out her folder from last year’s hook in that had been in her project box all year. She said the information hadn’t done her any good.
I recommended that she file the information from the hook-ins in a file so when she wanted the information it would be at her finger tips. With a filing system that works for you it is easy to retrieve information and clear clutter before it starts to grow. (You know my favorite filing system is FreedomFiler because it is so easy and it works!)
My challenge to you this week is to clear clutter from one room in your home. If you don’t have a filing system that works for you—you know what I am going to say—get one and use it. Let us know your success and how you file now that works for you.
