September 4, 2009 – 7 or 8:00am – I get my shot, today!!!!
“Four walls do not a Prison make”
from The Count of Monte-Cristo
“Four walls do not a prison make,” but they sure do “imprison” a lot of us.
My wife is held prisoner with reading: Are you????
Life is short – and it looks pretty horrible – terrifying – at the end – or if you’re “weak,” (or “hurt,” etc.). This is NOT the final “word,” chuckle.
Do what you can for “the human condition.” You’ll be better for trying, or, better: “do what you can for All that you know!!!! Leave your “campsite” better than you found it, says my brother, the ranger and U.S. Park Service man.
Serve your “God,” if you will, but don’t sit around reading.
I’m not going to sit around writing, now, either!!!!
Get out and “Drink Deep of Life,” “Carpe Diem,” “Seize the Day:” for “night” approaches: Unstoppably!!!!
So:
If everybody else is “going to the back of the chow-line,” to get fed: Go to the back of the chow-line: Just make sure it isn’t The Titanic. You don’t need a “manual” for this, life. (This borrowed from the movie: “A Few, Good Men.”)
Some may say, “Try to achieve ‘balance.’”
As the correspondent Edward R. Murrow used to end his broadcasts:
“Good night: And Good luck!!!!”
