I've watched this garden
Changing as each month's blossoms came in and left
But the day lilies last most of the summer
Adding color to my garden
And my life

So prolific
They seem to bloom for months
Or so it would seem
But eventually they die too
As summer fades into autumn

I have two that have hung on
Offering their light in the dappled sunshine
Providing food for the butterflies
And giving me the perfect photo
Soon they will be just a memory
Captured digitally
And shared with all of you.
