I am going to own some words
Words like
“Hostage, killers and “killing”
Words like
"War” devastation, crime and hate.”
"Famine, disease, racist, racism."

I’ll own these words
So that they can never be used again
So that they become unknown
And what they harbor can no longer
Exist.

Yes, let me own these words.

Now, you go and pick some of your own.
Perhaps between all of us we can erase
That which causes so much hurt, and pain
And let only those words that emanate a goodness
Words that never cease to exist may exist and spread like
A warm blanket called "Peace!"
