So silently, old age will creep up on you.
For a moment just that ignorant child.
Then the ‘forever wait’ of adolescence.
For a mere day you are that hot item (sssssssizzle)
A day arrives that no-one even looks anymore.
Old age has arrived with all its supposed loneliness,
worn faces once familiar reflect truth in a mirror
Slowly mirrors become avoided to save our egos
Folks don’t stop to chat, they seem to avoid us.
We become almost invisible, often unheard.
Our culture doesn’t appreciate us, our wisdom,
our history or our experience just living this life.
Old has-beens; no longer relevant to the future
we are meant to fade away; but just live longer?
How damn disappointing for you younger folks!
That’s why we’ve worked on aging for so long? (duh!)
We are the Baby Boomers, this world needs us!
“Snap”on that awhile you arrogant little pin heads!
