Judge not that ye not be judged - (or something like that) - Part of my belief's in the here-after, are that you WILL be judged in the manner you judged people while you were alive. In other words, the people who are always critical of other people or prejudiced against a race, religion or ethnicity, will be judged HARSHLY when they die just as they did when they lived. On the other hand, if the person basically "Lives and Lets Live", his lack of judgement during his life will almost ensures a "free pass" when he gets to the judgement part after he dies.
Excellent point, Franscisca! We seem to excel at handing down judgments on others. If the same harsh light were applied to us, where would we be today? For me, growing older is about letting go of such nonsense and embracing the beauty in others and one's self. Thanks for your powerful and always timely message.
You are so very right, Fran. How often people judge others, either by appearance or their actions~~ and none of us knows what that beautiful, classey lady with the 'I've got it all together' look has endured...nor what the tattered clothed, poorest of poor street urchin has to offer. We miss out on so much love and compassion in our lives...just merely by judging. thanks for being one to wonder. kathy
Is it not true that we christians are more prone to condem than condone. The saying:"Judge not lest ye be judged" I recently heard a Pastor in my church say just that, Christians usually jump to condem where other peoples of the world are more apt to condone. So I take everybody at face value and accept them as equal unless or until they prove themselves unworthy and even then I look at the trespass and try to find a reason as opposed to condemming them. Love and be loved in return, hate and you stand alone.
