I spent a great deal of time on Padre Island in the early Seventies. Amazing sunrises and sunsets, nice beaches. It was becoming very commecialized on the public part of the island at the time. The private portion was wonderful. It sustained substantial damage from Celia in 70. Hopefully the old pontoon bridge has been replaced- that was a little freaky! Really nice place.
