If you don't like to read political rantings, stop here!
Remember President Carter? We so needed him and Nader to 'refurnish' our sweet home of the USA. Both of these guys tried so, so hard; but, they couldn't get their thoughts to pass the Congress or Senate! Now almost 40 years later dear Obama is trying to revive some of these ideas with some new ones to bring a more 'us' to the US and he is running into the same trouble. I've seen the shadows developing in his eyes: I wonder what, whoever, and how they are threatening him with to make him weaken some of those resolves...is he angry about his helplessness and being forced to do things against his will and against the interests of our country?
Oh, by the way, a dental hygenice told me that it is the Americans fault that foreclosures rose to 32% last month: 'They shouldn't have bought more than they could afford!"
Well, she might be right; but, she should have continued: "It is an American's duty not to be downsized; not to allow recession or depression; not to get sick and stay sick because of rising health costs, not to need to take care of elderly parents and pay rising childcare costs; and, the duty not to trust big business leaders who are committing treason. These people who took out these big house loans should have known the future!"
Anyone who works against the welfare of the country is considered to have committed treason.
We have traitors. What are we going to do about them?

I had exaggerated the wrongness of her viewpoint by the suggestion that we are obligated to have foreknowledge of the future and all the things that unexpectantly went wrong at the same time.
How many people would have bought a house for $1m, if they knew that actual monthly income would drop down to $5,000 a month, or if they knew that an unexpected bout with cancer wipes out their savings, or if they suddenly were made responsible for elderly or adult children returning home?
I'm glad tp see that others besides me find the dental hygenist's comment so offensive.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
