Today’s G.O.P. is, after all, very much a minority party. It retains some limited ability to obstruct the Democrats, but has no ability to make or even significantly shape policy.
Beyond that, Republicans have become embarrassing to watch. And it doesn’t feel right to make fun of crazy people. Better, perhaps, to focus on the real policy debates, which are all among Democrats.

2012, so what do you think:
Palin and ‘This Guy’?
‘This Guy’ and Bachmann?

I'm beginning to think that the Alaska Independence Party (Palin's darlings who support secession), "Mad Dog" Bachmann, and the governor of Texas may be signalling something to their supporters. In 1861, the Democrats (mostly Southerners) were in favor of civil war. Nowadays, it is the Republicans (mostly Southerners) who seem to be in favor of civil war.
