Thank God for quiet gardens.....whether it is a balcony with a flower pot or a sprawling national park...a garden is a great place to relax....there is no gentler sound on earth than the rippling of water in a small fountain or brook or the rustling of trees in the breeze....and nothing rests the eyes like a bed of flowers or a field of clover....some of my favorite girlhood memories are the stretching out on the grass under a tree....watching the sunlight play with the limbs and leaves of an old elm tree......we lived by the river and I would love to sit for hours just watching the water.....there is a popular little poem that says...." The kiss of the sun for pardon....the song of the birds for mirth......one is nearer God's heart in a garden.....than anywhere else on earth.".......the first occupation in human history was gardening....Adam was to attend to the garden...eastward in Eden....gardening is in our genetics from the very beginning and even if your green thumb is blue you need the serenity of quiet paths......and gurgling water and budding trees.........it is one of the best places to get alone with God.........
