Painting a miniature facet of your soul for others. The real, the imagined, hoped for or feared. Small or large thoughts...inadequate in some ways to express the full depth and breadth of what you are trying to express. To reach, to explain, to comfort and connect or just to entertain. Or, of course to annoy, agitate or insult. The yin and yang of communication.
Spoken or written in haste, in anger or poorly conceived - yet there for all to see or hear. Irrevocable. Words cannot be unheard, or unread. Mercifully, at times, they can be dismissed and forgotten.
Interpretations cannot be controlled. We can only hope that we will be understood, and the blanks filled in as we would wish or intend. Not all are meant to be supportive, thought provoking, informative or even merely amusing. A pity.
We cannot know if those who read our words will know -or care- for the journey
we are inviting them to join, if only for a short while. Hoping to invoke a complete and perfect image, taking an coded abstract and making it real to the observer. To convince, to describe, to draw them into your world. Not all the images are pleasant, and as many as join, will be repelled.
Can you stand behind your words? Did you say what you really wanted to say? What do you hope to achieve with what you have written? Is it expressive of who you really are?
In this new world, there can be no actions, words must be enough. And sometimes, they are too much.

This thought concerns me greatly. We are judged in the end by our actions. It's not what you say, it's what you do. Will my childrens children be able to understand that there is life beyond "the screen"?
