“I am Me. In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me. Everything that comes out of me is authentically mine, because I alone chose it -- I own everything about me: my body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions, whether they be to others or myself. I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears. I own my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes. Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me. By so doing, I can love me and be friendly with all my parts. I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me, and other aspects that I do not know -- but as long as I am friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously and hopefully look for solutions to the puzzles and ways to find out more about me. However I look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is authentically me. If later some parts of how I looked, sounded, thought, and felt turn out to be unfitting, I can discard that which is unfitting, keep the rest, and invent something new for that which I discarded. I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do. I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive, and to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me. I own me, and therefore, I can engineer me. I am me, and I am Okay.”
Virginia Satir ~ (American Phychologist and Educator, 1916-1988)
These are truly words to live by,but not always as easy as they sound, are they?Life throws it's curves at us,no matter what it may be,we need to keep things centered, without being self centered. How do you live your life...Offensively or Defensively?I think we need a little of both myself.Giving without wanting anything in return is where we should be in life.

We should give as we would receive, cheerfully, quickly, and without hesitation; for there is no grace in a benefit that sticks to the fingers. ~Seneca

If I am not for myself, who will be for me?
And if I am not for others, what am I?
And if not now...When?

I think it took me to reach my 40's to really discover "Me"...to like me for exactly who I am. To look into the mirror and tell me I am fine just the way I am. To not feel I had to look like her of be taller, or smarter....or whatever my issues were at any one time. You get what I am saying. To feel comfortable in your own skin it must come from the formless dimension with in you, which is consciousness. I except where I am, who I am, and where I will go in my future. Unhappiness or negativity is a disease on our planet...what pollution is on the outer level is negativity on the inner. Thanks G~

Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
