Last night I was all set to watch a great night of television. Survivor, CSI and Shark are all great shows as far as I'm concerned and I really look forward to Thursdays for this reason. However, only one (Survivor) ended up being a first run program. CSI and Shark were repeats! So why is a repeat being snuck in here when there are new episodes already shot and ready for viewers? I say snuck in because the advertising for CSI was an entirely different episode than what they showed... Fine print said "December 7".

It might just be me (I admit to getting grumpier during the holidays) but I don't understand why television executives believe that they can keep a loyal following when they keep throwing repeats at us. It's pretty well expected during the summer months but why now?

Yes I realize some people are out shopping for the holidays at night. I also grant that there may be fewer people sitting down watching what CBS, ABC and NBC have to offer at the time they're offering it, but people still record programs they aren't able to watch! On Demand still shows these programs for those Elves among us who've had to decide between watching the shows or buying that gift for Aunt Agnes that just went on sale.

The networks lose nothing by giving us decent programming during the holidays but they should be receiving a few nasty letters at the very least for treating us so shabbily. Mine went out this morning.

End of rant.....
