I started The Studio, a new group on Eons - a place to have fun with HTML and css and to find answers to questions.
This group may be a little different from some of the other groups on Eons. It is rumored that the manager is a little cracked, not an expert on the subject and sometimes prone to be a little "wordy." I have reason to believe that this is all true.
But that doesn't matter. The group is intended to be a meeting place for people interested in having fun with css and HTML and is open to all - beginner to talented - casual user to web master - slow learner to genius.
Enter the realm of fantasy:
Imagine if you will, a cook out being held in an outdoor studio. Some of the folks attending are scattered about in different groups concentrating on one particular topic. Others are wandering from group to group and/or viewing different projects displayed on easels - asking questions about how the project was done, offering advice on a problem being discussed
or just enjoying the buffet with its various tidbits and snacks.
In the southwest corner of the pavilion, a few talented web masters are discussing the latest techniques using css. Bob is getting advice on a problem he's having implementing one of the new methods. Sally is sharing her newest project and asking for critiques so she can fine tune it.
In the northeast corner, a group of beginners are playing with some of the code, tips or techniques that they picked up from some of the files laying about. Suzy is thrilled because she has learned how to do some things that she has seen others do. Fred is sharing something he picked up while visiting one of the other groups and some of the others are playing with the code or tags to see what they can come up with.
Scattered about are other groups -- playing with code or discussing the best tools, tutorials, web sites or methods and some are seriously working on a project - maybe creating their first web site. Others are
walking about offering quick answers to a simple question - or simple for them!
Different people at different times in different ways replenish the
buffet with tips, techniques or code or add to the files laying about for anyone to use.
Everyone feels comfortable enough to share advice. Everyone feels comfortable enough to ask a question. A laugh is heard here - a guffaw
there. And if you hear a lot of giggling - well, that just means the manager made another boo boo.
Back to reality - Wait, no, I like the Fantasy better!
Get the idea of what The Studio is intended to be?
Great! Come join us, wander around and/or add to the fun!
